Using out-of-date apps or templates and plugins for them, or using simple passwords is always dangerous for your sites because these things make it easier hack them. Things can get even worse if you have a lot of Internet sites because all of them will be vulnerable when an attacker gets control of just one of them. Because of this we have introduced JailHost - an advanced security option that isolates sites from each other. In the event that an Internet site gets compromised, the attacker will not be able to view or gain access to any other content outside the site folder, so all other websites inside the account will be protected and will be intact. Using the JailHost option cannot replace performing routine script updates or using difficult passwords, but it will minimize any damage to your websites significantly, so you'll have to fix only one site not all of them.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

If you host your Internet sites in a shared hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is available with all packages and can be enabled for each folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so that files for different websites do not get mixed up as it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts which require access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option may interfere with their correct functioning, but securing all other folders is very easy. In case a secured Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to recover it very quickly as we'll have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups in Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server solutions and you can activate it with several clicks. It is not enabled by default since we do not want to prevent some scripts which need to gain access to multiple folders in the account from working properly. You can activate JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done quickly even when you have no previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have individual folders that could be "locked". In contrast, other well known Control Panels feature add-on domains and the content of the latter is kept in the primary domain folder, so in case a single site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, that isn't the case with Hepsia. If an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we shall be able to recover it the way it was in no time because we'll keep a few daily backup copies of the entire account.
